Godfrey ByekwasoPresident CAPAA

Godfrey Byekwaso is a multifaceted professional who has been privileged to practice in many business management disciplines. He is an Accountant by training and a banker and finance specialist by post qualification experience. He holds a master’s Degree in Business Administration and a bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda. He is a Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).

 Godfrey is the General Manager Finance, Centenary Bank. Prior to joining Centenary bank he worked with a number of local and international organizations in varied managerial roles.  He worked with FINCA International Africa Region as the Regional Finance Manager, Acting CEO, FINCA Uganda, Finance and Administration Manager, FINCA Uganda, USAID as the Supervisory Financial Analyst among other roles.

Godfrey also has 14 years of Teaching/Lecturing experience having served as a Teaching Assistant and thereafter as a Lecturer at Makerere University Business School from 1995 to 2009. As a Lecturer, he facilitated on various Undergraduate and Post Graduate programs.  Godfrey’s subjects of interest were Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Auditing, Quantitative Methods, Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Decision Analysis and Accounting for Bankers and MFI Managers.

In his other life he is a family man and a Rotarian. In Rotary he has served as President, Assistant Governor, District Officer responsible for Family Health Days and Assistant District Trainer. Godfrey is also the Chairman Uganda Banker’s Association CFO Forum.
